Why American Cities Are Fighting to Attract Immigrants

This article talks about immigration as a whole and how it is helping certain cities' economies. Big cities like Nashville, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego all benefit more than they falter from the attraction of illegal and legal immigrants alike. They claim to raise industry and small business production. This is because they can come in without a formal education and create either an ethnic knick-knack store or a restaurant that the entire community can benefit from. Most of these cities, including Nashville and San Francisco have taken "welcoming pledges" which means they teach assimilation and try protect these immigrants if they are illegal. This article was very interesting because nowadays people either yell at each other whether they're in support or against immigration; this article informs the reader that immigrants contribute in different ways than native born citizens, but they still contribute.
